Thanks for making this mod. Very quick jumping into game now. A side note, make sure you have Vsync (Max Frame Rate) turned off in your NVIDIA control panel else this mod won't work - wasn't working for me at first but I eventually figured it out.
Thanks for the comment! We do attempt to disable vsync during the loading screen to help with this, but in some rare cases forcibly disabling it via your GPU software may be the best option.
The mod itself only disables during the loading screen. Once the loading screen ends, it is re-enabled. But you can try forcing it off with your GPU control panel if you find the auto toggling of the mod doesn't work as suggested by this commenter. But the mod really should take care of it for you. In other words, if you want vsync on just install the mod and forget about it. You'll get best load times possible for your preferences. If you don't care about vsync, disable it manually and you'll get potentially better loading times, depending on the specifics of your hardware configuration. But in most cases, it should make no difference to manually disable as the mod disables it in Unity.
I'm confused. You make a big deal about this not being compatible with vortex, but, the mod manager download put it in the correct folder via vortex? It works fine? I don't see what's incompatible with it.
It's compatible with Vortex now that the Subnautica Vortex extension has been updated as of a few days ago. It wasn't compatible a month ago, when I wrote that.
the difference this mod has made is absolutely incredible!
when i started playing subnautica the game only took a few seconds to load but after i went a bit mad expanding my first base from the safe shallows all the way down to the jellyshroom cave and began heading out towards the sparse reef where i already had a tiny outpost, it must have taken almost a couple of minutes for the progress bar to painfully make its way all the way across the screen... but then i added this mod and the load time has been reduced back to the original few seconds, reigniting my urge to continue expanding! (and explore to gather resources to fund the expansions!)
sir tobey, i thank and salute you for being a wizard of the highest order! :)
ATTENTION The dependencies and the installation process of Fast Loading Screen have changed.
From Fast Loading Screen 2.0 onwards, Fast Loading Screen will no longer be released as a mod for QModManager. Moving forward, Fast Loading Screen will be released as a BepInEx plugin.
This change is to facilitate compatibility with the Subnautica 2.0 Living Large update.
Fast Loading Screen will endeavour to remain fully compatible with QModManager mods.

EDIT: Ah wait, it was just a fork on github. sorry.
However, even if a version of QMM is available for 2.0 - Fast Loading Screen will be entirely compatible with this!
Install QMM first, then Fast Loading Screen's dependencies, and then finally Fast Loading Screen itself, and you are all set.

My test-game loading times cut 6sec, and New game start cut from around 60 to 12 !?
The game is not even on SSD yet, as I'm still testing mods.
This is a must-have mod, and btw what a horrible mistake from dev's side, it reminds me how Battletech is using Unity O.o
Thank you for this!
