Leveling
1 Attribute point per level
2 Skill points per level
XP for activities unique to a higher biome will grant more XP (i.e. chopping birch trees will give the same XP regardless of where you do it)
Activities include:
Killing
Chopping
Mining
Picking/Farming (except for treasure-like pickables)
Fishing
Combat provides more XP but is divided by amount of players in the vicinity
Kills from indirect sources (fire, other mobs) will grant vastly reduced XP
Bosses and stronger enemies have an additional XP multiplier
You will lose a portion of your XP on death but only down to your current level
Resetting your level is free (except accumulated XP for the current level) until lvl 30 but you will lose one more level every additional 10 levels afterwards
The level cap is 10 x the amount of land biomes (currently 70)
Common level curve:
Meadows 0-5
Black forest 5-15
Swamp 15-25
Mountains 25-35
Plains 35-45
Mistlands 45-55
Ashlands 55-65
Cap at 70
If you are below the expected level you will catch up very quickly when reaching a new biome
You do not have to grind XP or sequence break in order to get XP fast, doing so will stall your progression later
Attributes
You gain an additional 5 points for every boss defeated (if you defeat a later boss you also get credit for all bosses before)
You can increase Health, Stamina or Eitr
Every character starts with 20 base Eitr (because it's also used for specific skills)
The maximum amount of points is 1.5 x level cap (currently 105)
You can gain additional points from Focus (see Skills)
Skills
You unlock bonuses on the following levels: 1, 15, 25 (always skill learn speed), 35, 50 (break point and special unlock), 75 (special upgrade)
After the break point almost every bonus will increase slower
Bonuses scale with every point invested
Skill XP is more effective the harder it is to level that skill (e.g. magic has a higher bonus then running)
Skills can be broadly categorized:
Strength - physical damage and carry capacity
Agility - mobility and stamina
Intelligence - versatility and support
Focus - general improvement
Constitution - survivability
Magic - magic damage and defense
Specializations
Unlocked from the start (press 'None' in the character window)
Grants varying bonuses to health, stamina and eitr (always total sum of 15)
Passive effect
Stance that can be toggled, usually with a downside
UI / Controls
Exp window
Shows level and current XP progress
Cannot be moved
Log window
Shows any important information like XP gains and activation of effects etc.
Built-in reminder to spend points
Can be moved freely

If you have no specialization you can choose one by clicking on the “None” button

Stance
Can be toggled by pressing 'T' once you have a specialization
There is a cooldown before you can change it again
Almost every number you see (or don't see) as well as list (like what gives XP) can be modified, please check the config for more information.
You can activate or deactivate the mod anytime without repercussions, everything is safely stored on your character, so if you need to because of updates you can.
