Pokémon President Teases Special Game News For 2024 World Championships Closing Ceremony

I kind of suspect sooner rather than later we're getting gens 1 and 2 (and maybe 3?) on NSO. With them showing a willingness to make a separate app for N64 there's nothing stopping them from just doing the same thing with Pokemon to keep you from backing up your data (which is dumb of them to worry about anyway but they do), it solves the Celebi and Deoxys issue that are the main things needing Bank kept open for, given how BDSP was just a throw-together in case Legends didn't go over well they seem to have lost interest in doing remakes, and it seems unlikely they'd let Gen 2's 25th anniversary completely pass without comment.

Seems very likely it will be about Unite, Go, and possibly TCG Pocket which I believe is supposed to release this year but we have had no news about since its February announcement.

I would be glad to hear about ZA but main games information at Worlds is usually new Pokémon/moves related (things with applications to competitive battling). Given that we have had no gameplay footage or anything, plus that Legends Arceus did not affect the official circuit whatsoever (championships remained on SWSH), I would hope an acknowledgement of ZA's existence and a release date/window at most.

Gen VI is one of my favorites, so I'd prefer it if Legends Z-A launched on the next console. Though given Game Freak's tendency to hang onto old hardware, I'm not getting my hopes up. If we see it on Sunday, I guess I'll know for sure.

Blue, Red and Yellow will totally be a 19.99 standalone purchase on the eShop.

Still hoping they do the same thing they did for the 2DS and release transparent Switch Lites with those games preinstalled.

I'll take one order for a Pokemon Direct, even if it's just mobile games. Gaming news has been really slow of late

That is wonderful news!! 😀 I hope we get some game footage and pictures or at the very least some new information about 'Pokemon Legends Z-A' and some new Pokemon and the announcement of the rumoured 3D remake of 'Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal' so we can play the Johto region in 3D.

A 'Pokemon Snap 3', 'Poke Park 3' or just 'Poke Park 1 and 2' coming to Switch would be good too 'cause they are so cute!! 'New Pokemon Snap' was my favourite Pokemon game on the Switch and as somebody who loved the original game I am hoping we don't have to wait as long for another sequel this time.

Wouldn't get your hopes up. They could be talking about Dynamax being introduced to Pokemon Go, or TCG pocket.

Personally not too excited because it’s Pokemon, but at least we know it’s happening. Give me the early gens on NSO, then I’ll be interested

I would really like to see some of the older Pokemon games on Switch without needing NSO.

Putting aside Z-A, I'd like to see a release of TCG mobile game dropped and some of the GB and GBA spin-offs come to NSO (pinball, puzzle challenge etc)
In a perfect world, a dedicated Pokémon NSO app to play the GB and GBA games. When I say dedicated, I mean without the rewind or quicksave features (to stop you naughty boys and girls cheating. Similar to how the 3DS VC versions disallowed quicksaves) BUT it would include a Pokémon PC feature where you can move Pokémon from those games to a dedicated box which would be Home compatible.

I mean… the reality here is it’s going to be a new trailer or news on this new Mobile Pokémon TCG Pocket version.

Crossing my fingers they finally give nso subs (or at least make it purchasable for non-subs) gen 1 and 2 and also make the n64 app extend compatibility with select games including gen 1 and 2

I don't see Legends Z-A appearing considering this is an esports event. GO, Unite and the TCG mobile app are the most likely to get announcements, maybe something for Scarlet/Violet if you're very lucky.

I wouldn't get your hopes/fears up for Pokémon Mastersex. I'm confident Pokémon Sleep is as far as they'll go into the bedroom.

My money's on ZA announcement, most likely we'll see some new Kalosian variants and some gameplay. And it will end with a release date. Possibly a Fall 2024/Winter 2025 release.

Not keeping my hopes up for anything actually noteworthy. I don't care for any of the mobile games except for Go, so unless this announcement involves a physical release of the classic Pokémon games for Switch and/or a high-def port of X&Y in the lead-up to Legends ZA, I don't think there's anything they will announce that I'll care about.

Given their past records from Pokemon Presents I would say probably more mobile announcements and maybe more DLCs for Scarlet and Violet. A new Let’s Go game is also possible. It would be a really nice surprise if they do announce the re-release of mainline retro Pokemon games.

And the end result was... Basically a total waste of time. Hooray.
