Disney launch ‘Dream Big Princess’ campaign to support women filmmakers

"Providing a powerful platform for the next generation of aspiring filmmakers"

Disney have launched their ‘Dream Big Princess’ campaign that aims to inspire and support aspiring women filmmakers by giving them a platform to showcase their work.

The intiative has selected 21 girls and women across 13 countries to develop short films about the women that inspire them.

The films will be shared through Disney’s social media channels and for every like and share the projects get, a $1 donation from Disney will be made toward the United Nations Foundation’s ‘Girl Up’ – which supports women’s equality globally through training and education.

Disney CCO Jennifer Lee won an Oscar for her work on ‘Frozen’. She says of this intiative: “Using the journeys of characters like Anna, Elsa and Moana to inspire kids to dream big is at the very heart of what all of us at Disney do,”

“The #DreamBigPrincess series is the perfect extension of that vision, providing a powerful platform for the next generation of aspiring filmmakers to create content about the women who have inspired them.”
