NME AND WAR CHILD TEAM UP FOR RADAR DOWNLOADS

Download the best new music and do your bit for charity too…

NME is teaming up with WAR CHILD MUSIC to give readers the chance to listen to the best new music in the world exclusively before anyone else.

Once a month, War Child’s new music download site will feature an exclusive NME-selected Radar track from the hottest new band on the planet, with all the profits going to help children around the globe who have been affected by war.

The very first track to be made available via NME.COM is The Arctic Monkeys’ ‘The Ritz To The Rubble’ from their forthcoming debut EP ‘Five Minutes With Arctic Monkeys’.

War Child CEO Mark Waddington said: “[url=]warchildmusic.com is really chuffed to be involved with NME, and particularly the Radar section. Since the ‘Help’ album in 1995 War Child has worked with some of the best bands in Britain and this means we’re now working with the hottest new acts too.

“Every track NME readers download raises around 70 pence for War Child. Amongst our recent programs, we have been working to reintegrate child soldiers in Democratic Republic of Congo into the community. This is life-changing stuff, but also incredibly difficult work, and every download raises essential cash to make these children’s lives a lot better.”

For more on the Sheffield four-piece – whose hysterical live shows and rabid fanbase have made them one of the most talked-about new bands in the country – see next week’s Radar feature in NME – out in London today (May 17) and nationwide tomorrow (18).
