Kid Cudi has given fans health update after Coachella fall

"I’m doing much better"

Kid Cudi has given fans a health update after his fall at Coachella back in April.

Cudi performed a last-minute set at Coachella, taking over the Sahara Tent at the festival in April. However, his performance – which was his first at the Californian festival since 2019 – came to an abrupt end after he fell and broke his foot.

The injury occured after Kid Cudi jumped off the stage to get closer to his fans at the barricades during ‘Memories’. He was carried out of the Sahara Tent while his DJ played Steve Aoki’s remix of ‘Pursuit Of Happiness’.

On Wednesday (July 10), the rapper shared a new video on Instagram in which he can seen being assisted as he walks slowly. Cudi was seen in a cast boot on his right leg.

Captioning the post, Cudi wrote: “First day doing “toe touch” [putting] light weight on my foot. I’m doing much better as of today. Can put about 20[per cent] of weight on it.

“As the weeks go by, [I’ll] add more weight and then [I’ll] be able to walk without crutches baby! Still got a ways to go, but this was my first time walking in four months and I was mad happy to see the progress. My mom filmed this video through tears haha she was so happy to see me walk again.”

He concluded: “I’m comin back y’all, stronger and more focused. I’ve been sitting at home in my dim lit room plotting my resurgence, and soon, we will ride again.”

The injury forced Cudi to cancel his planned tour to North America with Pusha T between June and August. The rapper wrote on Instagram: “Guys, so, I have a broken calcaneus. I’m headed to surgery now and there’s gonna be a long recovery time.”

“We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting better to be out there in top shape to rage with you all. There’s just no way I can bounce back in time to give 100%. This injury is much more serious than I thought,” he continued.

He confirmed that full refunds will be issued to all who have purchased tickets to the tour and that he will be announcing new tour dates “as soon as possible”.

Shortly after suffering his injury, Kid Cudi revealed the foot break to fans via X that he had “never broken a bone before so this is all a bit crazy”.

Kid Cudi and Pusha T are currently slated to tour Europe and the UK early next year.
