Pakistan Vs Canada Highlights, ICC T20 World Cup: Quicks, Rizwan, Babar Help PAK Open Their Account

After restricting Canada for just 106 in their 20 overs, Pakistan have managed to finally get home and take all two points from a game after two back-to-back defeats and stay alive in the competition. However, the net run rate seems way too low and with the weather not very promising in Florida, they might have not made a case for their qualification into the next stage of the T20 World Cup. PAK Look Animated Out There

Babar Azam looks charged up and is giving those final touches to his field.

Easy Pickings For Johnson

Shaheen starts with a leg stump full toss, and Johnson is up and running with a boundary.

Pakistan Vs Canada Live Score: 11/0 (1)

A struggling Afridi who found it hard to hit his mark ends his first over giving away 11 runs.

Impressive From Canada, Again

20 runs from 2.1 overs. Anything full and they have all the answers.

Vintage Amir!

Back of a length, hint of shape and boom. Pakistan have their first wicket of the morning.

Pakistan Vs Canada Live Score: 28/1 (4)

It's a confident start from Canada on a surface that is helping the pacers who hit the deck.

Change Of Ends, Change Of Fortunes

And it works straight away for Shaheen. The left-arm pacer changed his end, changed his length and has his first wicket. No major celebrations. Go to work, get the job done stuff from Afridi.

Imad Wasim Brilliance!

Huge wicket for Pakistan. A bit of miscommunication, slighlty to Wasim's left, two stumps to aim at and he finds it well. On a roll are Babar Azam's men.

100 T20I Wickets For Rauf

Haris Rauf finds his length finally and has Movva walking back. 100 T20I wickets for the Pakistan speedster.

Make That 101!

It does not take long for Rauf to take his 101st as he sends Singh packing for nought.

Pakistan Vs Canada Live Score: 66/5 (12)

Pakistan have things under control after 12 overs picking up five wickets. However, Johnson, Canada's lone warrior has scored a fifty.

Wickets Tumbling For Canada

Canada are 86 for the loss of seven wickets. Pace on, pace off. Pakistan have been brilliant with their variations.

100 Up!

Cracking shot, smashed, nailed for six by Kaleem to get 100 on the board for Canada.

Canada Finish On 106!

After a positive start from Johnson, Canada reach 106 in their 20 overs.

New Opening Combination Alert

Mohammad Rizwan and Saim Ayub walk out together for the first time in the T20 World Cup. Pakistan are favourites but can they get them quick?

Conservative Start From Pakistan

The new opening combination have started off decently, scoring 19 runs in four overs.

No Real Intent From Pakistan

The intent from Pakistan has not been great and will need to get these quick and make up their net run rate if they want to pull off an unlikely qualification.

Pakistan Vs Canada Live Score: 35/1 (7)

Pakistan need 72 from 78. Comfortable chase. But will that be enough to help them stay in the competition? No. Need to get a move on.

Much Needed For Rizwan And Pakistan

Pakistan desperately needed that and Rizwan gets them a boundary.

Pakistan Vs Canada Live Score: 59/1 (10)

At the halfway stage, Pakistan have scored 59 and need 48 more for victory to take their first points in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Cutting loose!

Babar has switched on his aggressive mode and is looking to open up and take on the attack.

Fakhar Walks In As Babar Goes Back

Heyliger has his second wicket of the evening. However, it could prove too little, too late for Canada.

Acceleration From Rizwan

Inside out, full face of the bat, incredible timing from Rizwan. Not an easy shot to play on this surface.

Touching Distance Now!

Pakistan only need 11 more in four overs to take all two points. But the net run rate is still a major concern.

Rizwan Reaches Fifty!

Rizwan reaches his 29th half century and raises to the skies. Pakistan one shot away now.

Zaman Fails To Finish

Gordon picks Zaman with Pakistan needing just three.

Pakistan Finally Get Home

Mohammad Rizwan, Usman Khan stay unbeaten as Pakistan finally take two points in the T20 World Cup.

Mohammad Amir | POTM

As a bowler, you have to adapt to any conditions. I was just trying to hit the right areas, the conditions were demanding. As a professional you've to be clear in your role, I know I have to bowl with the new ball and at the death, I'm ready for anything. I bowled the awayswinger for 3-4 deliveries, I then decided to swing it back in (on the dismissal of Dhaliwal). Much needed win, we've to win the next match and then who knows?

Babar Azam| Pakistan Skipper

"Good for us. We needed this win. Credit to team. We started well. If you take wickets with the new ball. We had NRR on the back of the mind. The first six overs are very crucial here. You assess after six overs. Then we tried to take on the spinners. We are going to go with the same mindset. The conditions at Florida should be better from here as well."

Saad Bin Zafar | Canada Skipper

"Was a bit disappointing. The wicket was difficult to bat on. The Pakistani bowlers bowled well. We were about 25-30 short. We needed to get some early wickets. We don't get to play high calibre teams. Johnson played well. Kirton's run-out was crucial. Lot of positives to take from this game."

That's All Folks!

And that's it from us for tonight. Thanks for joining and we hope you enjoyed it. Until next time, goodbye and take care.
