American Olympic swimmer Michael Brinegar has been banned for four-year for blood doping, the United States Anti-Doping Agency (Usada) said. Brinegar, who is the son of former US Olympian Jennifer Hooker Brinegar, has denied the doping allegations.

Danish FA To Hunt Fans Who Displayed Offensive Banner And Make Them Pay UEFA Fine

Danish officials will seek out the fans who unfurled an offensive banner in the match against England and get them to pay the fine it has been hit with by UEFA.

The Danish Football Association was fined 10,000 euros ($10,700) on Monday because of an abusive banner aimed at UEFA that was displayed in Denmark's 1-1 draw with England at the European Championship on Wednesday.

“We pay the fine, but the most important thing for us, and we are starting to do that now, is that we identify those who have brought in the banner, and then we will pass the bill on to them,” Danish Football Association director Erik Brøgger Rasmussen told TV 2 Sport.

“If we find them, they can pay. We hope that those who might bring a banner with this type of language to the stadium will think twice. After all, it is a bill of 75,000 krone.” (AP)

UEFA Euro 2024: Croatia Star Luka Modric Becomes The Oldest Ever To Score

Modric, at 38 years and 289 days old, scored against Italy on Monday to become the oldest goal-scorer ever at a European Championship. Ultimately it wasn't enough to ensure his team stays in the competition. Mattia Zaccagni scored in the eighth minute of stoppage time for Italy to draw 1-1 and advance to the knockout stage. The previous record was held by Ivica Vastic, who was 38 years, 257 days old when he scored for Austria against Poland at Euro 2008.

Ligue 1: Former Brighton Manager Roberto De Zerbi To Join Marseille

Roberto De Zerbi is poised to become Marseille's new coach after the French league club announced it had reached an “agreement in principle.”

De Zerbi, who left Brighton after two seasons in charge, led the Premier League club to its highest-ever top-flight finish of sixth, then to the pre-quarterfinals of the UEFA Europa League.

Marseille said in a statement late Monday that it is “currently working with all parties involved to formalize the arrival of the Italian coach and his staff on the OM bench, and to prepare for his arrival in Marseille in the coming days.”

De Zerbi will replace Jean-Louis Gasset, who retired at the end of the French league season. (AP)

Bangladesh lost their Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2024 agaisnt Afghanistan and saw the curtains fall on their campaign. Aftermath of the elimination, the skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto has apologised to the fans of his nation for their disappointing performance.

"First of all, I would like to say that as a team, we let down all the fans of Bangladesh who follow us and support us. So, I apologise on behalf of the team. As a batting group, we couldn't give the best to the people of the country," Shanto said at the post-match press conference.

India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana dropped a rung to fourth spot while skipper Harmanpreet Kaur jumped two places to ninth position in the ICC women's ODI batting rankings issued on Tuesday.

Women's T20 Asia Cup: India To Play Pakistan In Opener

Defending champions India will open their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on July 19 in the Women's T20 Asia Cup to be held in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.

The top eight teams of the continent will participate in the tournament from July 19 till July 28.

Unlike last time, this year the eight teams have been divided into two groups. India Pakistan, UAE and Nepal are placed in Group A, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand and Malaysia are in Group B. (PTI)

Yusha Nafees and Dhruv Bopana began their campaign in the 31st Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships on a winning note, defeating their opponents with ease in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Sixth seed Nafees beat local challenger Ubaid Ullah 11-7 10-12 11-5 11-4 in the boys' U-17 category, while Bopana put it past Iranian Amirreza Alvansaz Yazdi 11-4 11-2 11-7 in the boys' U-13 section, according to PTI reports.

Commonwealth Games silver medallist Tulika Maan on Tuesday secured a Paris Olympics quota for India in judo, according to the international body's list according to PTI reports.

International Judo Federation (IJF) on Tuesday published a list of judokas who have qualified for the Paris Games and 25-year-old Tulika's name featured in the +78 kg category.

The Delhi girl was ranked 36th with 1345 points.

Hanuma Vihari To Continue Playing For Andhra

Indian all-rounder Hanuma Vihari has committed to represent Andhra following assurance from the state's ruling party, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) that his grievances with the state association would be addressed, according to PTI reports.

The 30-year-old had announced in February that he would "never play for Andhra again" as he had lost his "self-respect" after being forced to quit as the team's captain.

Euro 2024: Poland Play Out 1-1 Draw Against France

France finished second in Group D after being held to a 1-1 draw in Dortmund on Tuesday by already-eliminated Poland, thanks to a Robert Lewandowski spot kick that cancelled out a Kylian Mbappe penalty.

In the 56th minute, Mbappe scored his first goal in the European Championship and the first goal by a French player at Euro 2024, dispatching a penalty kick awarded for a careless foul on Ousmane Dembele by Jakub Kiwior.

However, Dayot Upamecano's foul on Polish replacement Karol Swiderksi allowed Lewandowski to equalise from the spot in the 79th minute after Mike Maignan had been ruled to have advanced off his line too early on his initial attempt.

Euro 2024: Austria Beat Netherlands 3-2

Austria defeated the Netherlands to go to the round of 16 as Group D victors, putting on an incredibly outstanding display that will cause others to take notice at Euro 2024.

In spite of suffering a hard draw against France and the Netherlands, Ralf Rangnick's team won two of their three games to take the lead in the standings.

Although the Netherlands had already assured themselves of a spot in the round of 16, they will now advance as one of the top three teams, with France in second place.
