The Season 4 finale took place on November 2, 2024, and featured a live event in the multiplayer game with some of the new season’s stars. However, Chapter 2 remix is only set to last a few weeks, and the Battle Pass is half its usual size. So, when is the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 6 release date and what do we know about what’s in store for the battle royale game so far?
When is the next season of Fortnite?
The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 6 release date is scheduled around December 1, 2024. This is surprising, given that Season 5 only started four weeks earlier, and seasons usually last around three months.
However, an official tweet from the Fortnite profile confirms that the ‘Finale’ event for the current season takes place on November 30, 2024. This was then confirmed when the season was released as the Battle Pass is only 50 levels – half the usual 100 – and states in-game that it only runs until December 1.
While we don’t know much about the new season yet, we can guess some things, including download size and Fortnite server downtime. Previous updates have usually been around 95GB, so depending on your download speed, it may take a while. As with the beginning of every season, there will be a queue to get in at first while the servers deal with a massive number of people booting up the game at once.
Since Season 5 has only been live a few days, there is nothing to report about the upcoming season just yet, but we’ll update you as soon as we hear any Fortnite leaks or new information.
