When is the Genshin Impact Sethos banner release date? As Sethos is the upcoming four-star character arriving in the anime game, he won’t be getting his own banner. Don’t worry, we expect him to feature on either (or both) of the five-star characters he arrives alongside.
Sethos is one of the new and upcoming Genshin Impact characters who we should be seeing very soon alongside the two five-star characters, Clorinde and Sigewinne. He has been officially announced by Hoyoverse, so it’s likely he’ll be in the next update. He is an Electro bow user from the Sumeru deserts, and has already appeared in Cyno’s 4.6 questline, as well as the 4.6 livestream.

While we don’t have a firm release date for Sethos, it is likely he’ll either appear on Clorinde or Sigewinne’s banners in either the first or second phase of the upcoming Genshin Impact 4.7 update. Thanks to leaks from Honey Hunter World, we’ve already got a detailed look at his abilities.
Genshin Impact Sethos abilities
Normal attack – Royal Reed Bowmanship
- Normal attack: Performs up to three consecutive shots with a bow.
- Charged attack: Performs a more precise Aimed Shot with increased damage. While aiming, the power of Electro accumulates on the arrowhead before the arrow is fired, which has different effects based on the time charged.
- Charge level one: Fires off an arrow carrying the power of lightning that deals Electro damage.
- Charge level two: Fires off a Shadowpiercing Shot which pierces enemies, dealing Electro damage in its path. After the Shadowpierce Shot is charged, Sethos cannot move.
- Plunging attack: Fires off a volley of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE damage on impact.
Elemental Skill – Ancient Rite: The Thundering Sands
Gathers the might of thunder, dealing AoE Electro damage to enemies in front and quickly retreating. If this attack triggers Electro-Charged, Superconduct, Overloaded, Quicken, Aggravate, Hyperbloom, or Electro Swirl reactions, Sethos recovers a certain amount of Elemental Energy.
Elemental Burst – Secret Rite: The Twilight Shadowpiercer
Perform a secret rite, entering the Twilight Meditation state, during which Sethos’s normal attacks are converted into enemy piercing Dusk Bolts: these bolts deal Electro damage to enemies in their path, with damage increased based on Sethos’s Elemental Mastery. Damage dealt by Dusk Bolts is considered Charged Attack damage.
Sethos passive talents
- Reflected Revelation: Displays the location of nearby resources unique to the Sumeru region on the mini-map.
- Black Kite’s Enigma: When aiming, the charging time is decreased by 0.285 seconds based on each point of Sethos’s current Elemental Energy that is not over 20. Charging time can be reduced to a minimum of 0.3 seconds. If a Shadowpiercing Shot is fired, consume the corresponding amount of Elemental Energy: if it is a Charge level one shot, then consume 50% of the energy.
- The Sand King’s Boon: Every 15 seconds, Sethos gains the Scorching Sandshade effect, increasing the damage dealt by Shadowpiercing Shots by 600% of Sethos’s Elemental Mastery. The Scorching Sandshade effect lasts up to five seconds and is removed after four Shadowpiercing Shots strike enemies. When the first Shadowpiercing Shot affected by Scorching Sandshade hits an enemy, the timer is reset.
Sethos constellations
- Sealed Shrine’s Spiritsong: The critical rate of Shadowpiercing Shot is increased by 15%.
- Papyrus Scripture of Silent Secrets: When the following conditions are met, Sethos gains a 15% Electro damage bonus for ten seconds: regaining Elemental Energy via Ancient Rite, Using Secret Rite, Consuming Elemental Energy through the Passive Talent, Black Kite’s Enigma.
- Ode to the Moonrise Sage: Increases the level of normal attack by three. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
- Beneficent Plumage: When Shadowpiercing Shot or Dusk Bolt strike two or more enemies, all nearby party members gain 80 Elemental Mastery for ten seconds.
- Record of the Desolate God’s Burning Sands: Increases the level of Secret Rite by three. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
- Tome of the Sojourning Sun Temple: After Shadowpiercing Shot strikes an enemy, the Elemental Energy consumed by the passive talent, Black Kite’s Enigma, is returned. This effect can be triggered once every 15 seconds.
