AT&T announces two more cities that will get 5G network coverage in 2019

AT&T is one of the major carriers that will offer 5G commercial services this year, but if you're wondering whether or not you're going to have access to blazing fast data speeds, you'll most likely have to follow the tech news.

Just like the other U.S. carriers, AT&T confirmed it will eventually have a nationwide 5G network ready by 2020. Until then, the carrier plans to expand the coverage of its 5G network to additional cities from time to time.

Today, AT&T announced that its list of cities where 5G services are expected to go live in 2019 has been expanded a bit. Minneapolis, MN and Chicago, IL have been added to AT&T's 2019 deployment roadmap, which already contains launch cities like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose.

Of course, 5G services will require customers to acquire compatible smartphones, which aren't yet available on the market. However, companies like Samsung, LG and OnePlus have already confirmed they will launch 5G smartphones in 2019, and we're quite certain that they will be introduced in the United States as well.
