Samsung posts Q2 2015 financial results, confirms new Galaxy with "larger screen" for later this year
Samsung today posted financial results for the second quarter (Q2) of 2015, which ended on June 30. The South Korean giant reported a revenue of $41.7 billion (48.54 trillion KRW), and an operating profit of $5.93 billion (6.9 trillion KRW). Both numbers are slightly higher than the numbers from last quarter.
Samsung's IT & Mobile Communications Division (responsible for smartphones, among other things) posted revenues of $22.4 billion (26.06 trillion KRW), and net profits of $2.37 billion (2.76 trillion KRW). Revenues only improved "slightly" over the last quarter, because, despite increased Galaxy S6 and S6 edge shipments, there was a drop in overall smartphone shipments (more exactly, low- and mid-end models didn't sell too well).
