Specs and images of a new MediaTek-powered Xiaomi Redmi phone pop up, check them out
After the alleged roadmap of Xiaomi leaked a few days ago, we got the basic idea what the "Apple of China" might be secretly brewing in its factories. Xiaomi Mi4s, Mi5, Redmi Note 2, as well as the Redmi Note 2 Pro are all expected by the end of 2015, but we heard nothing about a new addition to the affordable Redmi line. Until now, that is.
As per a new leak that @upleaks has stumbled upon, Xiaomi is prepping a new member of the Redmi lineup. Codenamed Xiaomi H3Y, it might end up being a metal-made phone, powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6795 chipset, comes with 2GB of RAM, and dual-SIM support.

We don't know the size of its display, but @upleaks reveals that it will most probably be a 1080p one.There's a bit more info regarding the cameras, though - it seems that we might get a 13MP rear camera (with a Samsung S5K3M2 ISOCELL sensor), while the front-facing 5MP one will take selfies thanks to an OmniVision OV5670 sensor.
The Xiaomi H3Y will come with MIUI 6 running on top of either Android 5.0 or 5.1 Lollipop. We know little to nothing about a possible release date or pricing, but GizmoChina suspects that the phone will command a 1000-yuan price tag, which translates to roughly $161.
