Support Poetry
The demand for poetry programming and resources continues to grow, and literary arts remain the least funded of the arts sector. Your contribution helps the Poetry Foundation support the fields of poetry and the literary arts by expanding free poetry resources, programs, and initiatives, such as:
- Grants to nonprofit organizations in the United States, including its territories, that have a core commitment to poetry and the literary arts
- Public programs and live events for poetry enthusiasts of all ages
- Online access to more than a century’s worth of Poetry magazine content
- A vast online archive of poems, poet bios, and educational resources
- The Midwest's only library dedicated exclusively to poetry
- A suite of awards and fellowships to honor and support poets at all stages of their careers
- Rotating exhibitions in our gallery
The Foundation is described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; donations to the Foundation are fully deductible to the extent permitted by law.

To direct gifts to the Poetry Foundation, please include this information in the check memo (e.g., [NAME] Memorial Donation), or in the notes field of our online giving platform. Please inform us if, in addition to a gift acknowledgment letter, you would like additional acknowledgment sent elsewhere.
What to Expect
An acknowledgment letter for your tax records will be mailed to the address you provide. We are happy to provide notes of receipt for any gifts you contribute on behalf of another individual.
