Beyond Good & Evil 2's Space Monkey Program hints at possible platforms

Three out of four, maybe?

Prospective Beyond Good & Evil 2 players who join Ubisoft Montpellier’s Space Monkey Program have a “preferred platform” to choose: PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, hinting at the places that the game may (and may not) wind up.

Absent from the list is, of course, the Switch. That said, Beyond Good & Evil 2 appears to be in the early stages of development. As recently as last October, creative director Michel Ancel described the game’s status as “pre-production,” and we only saw a CG trailer and no Beyond Good & Evil 2 game footage this week. In short, it doesn’t preclude the game from arriving on Nintendo’s new system, but it certainly appears that Ubisoft isn’t currently targeting the portable console.

During Beyond Good & Evil 2’s surprise return at Ubisoft’s E3 2017 media showcase, developers invited those interested in the game to join the Space Monkey Program. The official site describes it as “our way of inviting passionate members of the community to be the first to play, to share ideas and inspirations, and to crash test all of the creative and gameplay elements that make up our game world: as early and as often as possible!”

For more on the game, you can watch creative director Michel Ancel’s scene-by-scene trailer breakdown or embark on an easter egg hunt.
