Joseph Gordon-Levitt is teaming up with Beyond Good & Evil 2 — and you

HitRecord is making assets for the super-anticipated game

Joseph “JGL” Gordon-Levitt took the stage during Ubisoft’s E3 2018 conference to announce that his production company, HitRecord, is hooking up with the team behind Beyond Good & Evil 2. Gordon-Levitt and crew will help Ubisoft come up with original assets for the game — assets that were developed by fans themselves.

A follow-up teaser from Ubisoft goes further into detail about the program. Here’s how the company describes it:

Take your Space Monkey participation to the next level by contributing directly to Beyond Good and Evil 2. With HitRECord, the community works together to create art and music for the game! Learn about the ins and outs of how to get started on HitRECord working with artists from around the world in creating content that will be integrated directly into the game.

What this means is that anyone in the HitRecord community will be able to contribute. That includes newcomers to the collaborative arts website, where users can submit pieces of recorded footage, artwork, writing and other content. They can then work together to compile a full-fledged, original creative project.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the co-founder of HitRecord, which has since spawn a television series as well as numerous books and albums. The company’s website opened up to users in 2005; since then, thousands have remixed work to share online for free.

The HitRecord website is running a bit slowly since the announcement, but you can join now if you’re a fan who wants to get cracking on assets for the upcoming game.
