Trauma Therapist using Animal Assisted Therapy. I support children, adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma, including family violence and sexual trauma. I believe that trauma is healable. The experience does not go away but it is possible to find meaning from your experiences and thrive through healing. I believe in holistic support and healing in community so I work with families and systems around children and young people as well as the individual if that is what is needed for them. I welcome First Nations peoples, people from the gender and sexuality diverse communities and anyone from culturally diverse backgrounds.
I support healing in many way: narrative therapy and story telling; nature therapy, body-based and play therapies. I also use Animal Assisted Therapy as the human-animal bond is proven to support healing. My dog, Quincy Bones is a whippet x staghound and loves people, including children. I use a culturally informed and intersectional lens in my practice.
My role is to help you find meaning in your story. In whichever ways suit you. The relationship between you and your therapist is incredibly important so choosing the right person means a lot. If you feel that I am the right person to support you, please reach out.
