A relational and somatic focus is the heart of my work as a therapist. I offer trauma-informed, therapeutic counselling grounded in an integrated and holistic approach. I have a deep interest in how stress and trauma impact the nervous system, and how we hold these impacts in our physiology. I am very experienced in working with complex and developmental trauma, and trauma resulting from sexual assault & family violence. I work with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, grief & loss, family dynamics, interpersonal issues, life transitions, or helping people to explore existential and spiritual concerns.
I meet each person as a unique and valued individual and work together to achieve the change that is most important to them. I provide an environment that is non-judgemental, safe and welcoming to create a relational space that makes this healing possible.
I am a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I am informed by attachment-based modalities, sensorimotor and somatic approaches and polyvagal theory. I also draw on strength-based, cognitive-behavioural and mindfulness-based psychotherapeutic models as part of an integrated approach.
