In therapy I deal with topics such as stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, self-esteem, life crises, grief and relationship difficulties. I have specialized knowledge about negative patterns linked to being a relative to an addict. I also have great interest in the challenges that people experience when growing up in-between different cultures.
The therapeutic method that I use is Intensiv Short-Tern Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). ISTDP is based on the assumption that mental problems arise when one unconsciously avoids certain emotions and impulses that are linked to painful experiences in the past. To avoid experiencing these feelings, inappropriate and often self-destructive patterns arise.
I completed my Masters at Aarhus University in 2015. I received my authorization by the Danish Supervisory Board of Psychological Practice in 2018 and am currently finishing a three year long course on ISTDP.
