Do you need someone safe, empathetic and genuine to speak with? Someone who is not in your usual circle, so can offer a different outlook on problems? I enjoy working with people who have either long term or short term challenges or goals, working towards a better understanding of themselves. Perhaps life has got you down, and you are not sure where to start in your journey of reclaiming life. That is when you may find a counsellor is someone to help you through these challenges - to support you, be honest with, and to help you reach your goals.
I predominantly work through the modalities of Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy and a lens of strength based and client centred work. I also have a strong interest in working with eating disorders, grief, identity, self esteem/worth, anxiety, depression and healthy relationships. I work with ages 12 to 100.
I consider the role of a counsellor to be a privilege, and as such, I understand the importance of feeling safe with the person you choose to have as your counsellor. I am happy to have a brief 10-15 minute introductory conversation prior, should this help ease any queries.
