Adult Social Anxiety Skills Group
While we all feel a degree of nervousness in certain social situations, social anxiety disorder causes so much anxiety that people tend to avoid social or evaluative situations altogether. Cognitive behavioral group therapy is the gold standard treatment intervention for social anxiety. The goal of our social anxiety group is to help clients: learn how to effectively manage social anxiety, gain confidence speaking in a group setting, become more assertive, become more comfortable initiating and maintaining conversations, learn how to identify topics for conversation, develop more meaningful relationships, become more poised speakers, and gain comfort in public places.
