Experiencing betrayal by an intimate partner may feel as if your world has been turned upside down. You may experience conflicting feelings that are difficult for others to understand. Accessing support from others who have also experienced betrayal may be foundational support. This group provides education, empathy, and connection to help you move through the pain of betrayal.

This is a group of clinicians seeking support for their work and personal lives, recognizing that they are wounded healers. Coming together as imperfect and successful therapists allows us to see where we have room to grow, what we can learn, and how much we have already accomplished. The group takes place online, every other Thursday morning, 8:30 (CST) for 90 minutes. A commitment to attendance is required to provide secure relationships, which promote vulnerability and courage. The usual fees apply to this group, including intake interview.

Every person has the potential for growth. Yet, people can work very hard and not make progress. Old ineffective patterns, habits, even addictions, dominate and prevent happiness and growth. Hope can dwindle and lead many to believe they are broken or defective. There is hope! With extensive training and experience in treating trauma and addiction, I explore with you the reasons that patterns persist. I am invested in helping people understand themselves, as they build personal and relationship satisfaction. You can create a life, not simply existing, but full of creativity, connection and enjoyment.

I believe therapy is a way to enrich life in general, to enhance the enjoyable, and to understand and move through the painful. I think life is better in supportive company and that is why I am a therapist. I am fascinated with the multilayer complexity of life; in integrating the mind, body, heart, and spirit, as well as the richness of people and culture. I enjoy building connections with clients and exploring what brought them to therapy, how their history informs their present situation, and how needs and emotions are communicated. In essence, I’m thoughtful about how life is experienced, assimilated, digested and observed.

With specialized training and extensive experience, I'm equipped to work with adults facing ADHD, LGBTQ+ issues, as well as depression and anxiety. I might be the right fit for you if having ADHD or being "neurospicy" is holding you back. Likewise, I might be a good fit if you're navigating depression, anxiety, or the weight of shame due to being 'different' or 'other.' I can support you in releasing the narrative of shame, creating a live that works for you, and developing the tools you need for resilience, for authentic self -expression and for thriving in your life.

Finding the right therapist is like finding a great pair of hiking boots. You know you want to go on a journey and your boots need to fit right, handle different terrain, and take you the distance. Sometimes you may even need to try on a few different pairs. As a practice owner and therapist, I think my skill lies in matching you with someone in my group or in the community who can take you the distance with the right combination or personality, style, and technical skill. While I am not currently taking new clients, please reach out, and let's have a conversation about who might be your ideal fit.

Bill has a very straightforward and matter-of-fact approach to psychotherapy and counseling. He describes his approach as "change oriented", believing the client's inherent strengths provide the keys to growth and recovery. Bill recognized the profound role the family plays in mental health. Bill finds working with families especially rewarding. Much of that works includes couple and marriage counseling and youth.
