I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Psychology from The University of Rhode Island in 2010, then went on to get my Master’s in Nursing from Drexel University, graduating as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2018. I have worked in variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as telemedicine. For 4 years, I have care for and provided psychotropic medication management to children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a variety of settings including hospital, outpatient, nursing home and state psychiatric facilities.

Larrice Gorley is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who graduated from Valdosta State University. Her background includes child and adult psychiatry and substance abuse treatment. Mrs. Gorley clinical career took her on a journey through the healthcare system, from inpatient to outpatient settings, managing the care of everyone from children with autism to older adults with dementia. Her expertise lies in psychopharmacology across the lifespan, acute and chronic mental health issues, and acute and chronic substance abuse treatment.

After graduated from Xiangya School of Medicine China, I worked at UT Southwestern Medical Center conducting neuroscience projects. I then completed my psychiatric resident training in Delaware Psychiatric Center and Emory University. I have acquired diverse clinic experience through the past 10 years working in different settings, including outpatient clinics and inpatient units with patients from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Upon graduation from medical school, she matriculated to The University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, where she completed an internship in Psychiatry. She then returned to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where she completed her residency in General Psychiatry and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is dually board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Pointer currently treats children, adolescent, and young to middle age adult patients.

I am a physician with over 25 years of clinical experience working with patients and supervising trainees at a number of medical schools and universities. I am board certified in the treatment of children, adolescents, and general psychiatry, treating patients aged 2 - 65 years. I offer psychiatric assessment and management of psychotropic medications. However, medication in my practice is only a part of comprehensive mental health care. In my care of children and adolescents, I prioritize a partnership between myself, the child and parents.
