Psychiatrists Beginning With S in Vermont

I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I was born and raised in upstate New York. I received by RN from Southern Vermont College. I then earned by BSN from SUNY Plattsburgh while working full time as a nurse manager of one of the wings of the Vermont Veterans Home. I found my love of mental health diagnosis and treatment while working with veterans and their families. This inspired me to then earn my training as a PMHNP from SUNY Stony Brook. I have experience in working with people of all ages and backgrounds, including substance use disorders.

With two decades in mental health / human services prior to medical training, my hope is to work with patients who are interested in co-creating a new narrative of overcoming adversity and finding greater self-kindness. As a physician assistant I build upon previous work as a psychotherapist with additional medical training and work in collaboration with a psychiatrist MD Mentor to offer therapy in addition to medication management.

I am an ivy league-trained child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist seeing patients for combined psychotherapy and medication management services via telehealth. My practice is small and patient-focused with a tailored approach to meet every patient's unique needs. My approach to treatment is to provide a safe, comforting environment where patients feel able to express themselves emotionally without fear of judgment. I pride myself on being empathic, warm and caring with an ability to personally connect with each of my patients and their families. I love what I do and I believe it reflects in the results I help my patients achieve.
