I am a clinical psychologist working with people of all ages. I specialize in helping children and adolescents who have faced difficult life circumstances, including complications from emergency medical events and pervasive medical diagnoses, as well as those who have experienced various types of abuse. My experience on psychiatric inpatient units allows me to be helpful in navigating mood disorders, dissociation, somatic symptoms, and other intense emotional experiences. My work on medical inpatient floors enables me to support those with eating disorders, traumatic brain injuries, genetic disorders and other medical conditions.
I also provide support to parents whose children are in the NICU through discussing the stressors associated with perinatal and postpartum concerns. I am attentive to the different backgrounds, cultures, and religions of the people I work with, as well as issues of access to care, and the complications associated with being economically disadvantaged.
I have mentored and provided psychological treatment to both undergraduate and graduate level students, as well as early career professionals, and have held leadership positions in national organizations. I work effectively in coordinating care with other professionals such as psychiatrists, family physicians, nurses, social workers, and teachers.
