I enjoy working with clients who are willing to challenge themselves to change and grow when they can no longer accept the way they've been living; those who have a desire to find wisdom in some of life's inevitable challenges: our mistakes, our sorrow, and our fears. I love to assist clients as they construct meaning, gaining a better understanding themselves and others, and as they plan to move forward with intentionality after adversity.
I like to use emperically proven therapies (CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, ERP, ACT) while incorperating an humanistic approach with empathy, validation, and humor to treat a range of mental and behavioral health issues. I believe that people possess the power to overcome adversity and heal when they have the right support and empowerment.
Therapy is a partnership. Like most relationships, the more work you are willing to put into it, the more you get out of it. It relies on a foundation of trust that requires good faith, a willingness to be vulnerable and, resultantly, a need to be courageous.
