My approach to therapy is focusing on building a genuine therapeutic relationship. Sometimes, the things that have helped us survive are not the things that will help us thrive. I work with people to lean more heavily on the behaviors that will help them thrive. I am aware of the impact that racism, homophobia, transphobia, monosexism, ableism, fatphobia, classism, xenophobia and the intersections between, can have on individuals and groups. My overall goal is for you to be able to be yourself in the therapeutic space, sometimes that means working to discover who that is.
I specialize in working with QTBIPoC, LGBTQIA+, BIPoC Veteran, and BIPoC individuals between the ages of 18 and up. I base the therapeutic approaches that I use on each individual and what they need. I often use Attachment Based Therapy, EMDR, Ecological Theory and CBT, if these are a good fit for the people that I am working with.
If you have made it this far on my page, it seems like we would most likely be a good fit. If you think so too, reach out so that we can set up a time to meet!
