My name is Casey Bridgeman and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts. I obtained my bachelor's degree in psychology at Emmanuel College and continued my education at Suffolk University. At Suffolk, I obtained a master's degree in mental health counseling. I currently work at Accept Education Collaborative, where I am a school adjustment counselor. At Accept, I work with students who are on the autism spectrum and have extreme behavioral/emotional needs. Prior to working at ACCEPT, I worked for Arbour Counseling and at Norfolk State Prison.
The first session is for me to get to know the client and to build rapport with them. It is discovering who they are and learning their needs. It is a time for the client and I to work as a team to come up with a plan for them. It is important for clients to get what they want out of therapy.
I believe my greatest strength is making clients feel safe and validated during therapy.
