Have you found yourself in a nagging cycle of worry--experiencing sleeplessness, poor concentration, avoiding once enjoyed activities, and friends? These symptoms maybe due to depression or anxiety. Eating disorders, grief, loss, women's issues, life coaching, and couples counseling are some of the issues addressed in my office. I can offer guidance as to how our gut can affect the health and functioning of our bodies and of our brains--thus affecting mental health. There is a bi-directional relationship between our brain & gut. As a registered dietitian, I can provide the nutritional guidance to keep your gut healthy.
Therapeutically, I use a mindful approach with eating disorder clients. It is a non-diet approach. Mindfulness anchors people in the present which helps to reduce their impulsivity with food and reactivity that underlie depression & anxiety. I work with people who are struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating, and binge eaters with diabetes.
Treatment involves developing a relationship with you, and discovering your inner strengths. Our sessions will provide skills, knowledge, support, and encouragement. I am holistic in my approach, strive to meet clients where they are, and to this end, personalize therapy to your goals and capabilities.
