I am passionate about helping children find their inner strengths, express their emotions, and increase resiliency. Collaboration with parents/caregivers is an essential component of the therapeutic experience for children and adolescents. Working previously in early childhood, elementary, and special education as well as mental health gives me a unique ability to support children of various ages, developmental levels, and needs in navigating life's challenges, building coping skills, & improving relationships. Supervised by Deborah Ketcham, RPT-S & LCMHC, as I work toward RPT credentials.
Sandtray therapy, an Expressive Arts modality, provides children and adolescents opportunities for exploring thoughts and feelings in addition to processing trauma, either verbally or non-verbally. I provide safety, am the witness and guide in Sandtray therapy. Clients utilize the sand tray to create worlds in which they tell their stories using miniatures.
Dandelion Breath Counseling, L.L.C. was inspired by my favorite deep breathing strategy, dandelion breath. As a former Wellness teacher, I value teaching children and adolescents about their brain (including stress responses) while developing the ability to engage in deep breathing and mindfulness techniques to improve handling strong emotions and stress.
