Welcome, my name is Emily and I am a licensed professional counselor. My main focus areas include treatment of perinatal mood/anxiety disorders, anxiety related to body image, and disordered eating/eating disorders. I have a special passion for working with young adults and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. My goal is to help you create meaningful change in your life that leads to lasting wellness and fulfillment. This looks like developing skills and insight that impact your life in an ongoing and positive way outside the counseling space.
I integrate creativity in treatment planning to meet your individual needs, utilizing natural resources in the mind and body for healing. I use a trauma informed, integrative approach to counseling. I draw several different schools of thought depending on your needs. The most common approaches I utilize are Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, ACT and CBT.
I integrate a balance of head and heart, drawing on evidenced based practices and modern science from a root of compassion and warmth. I provide a flexible, safe environment to explore painful experiences and empower clients to integrate skills to reduce negative impacts of the symptoms. I look forward to exploring how we can move toward wellness together.
