I am a licensed independent social worker who specializes in working with adults facing a range of life stressors including relationship concerns, grief and loss, and trauma. I am a highly experienced practitioner of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a treatment approach that emphasizes facing negative experiences in safe and sensitive ways rather than fighting or trying to resist them.
I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT). ACT builds on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) but adds mindfulness. ACT is more about noticing your thoughts and choosing not to engage, appreciating that thought is transient and neutral when allowed to simply pass.
In a collaborative, non-judgmental environment we identify emotional pain, past or present, that prevents your most deeply held priorities from being at the center of your life. We then address that pain with the tenderness and respect needed for healing to occur.
