I work to help people get unstuck from difficult phases of life or difficult patterns of thinking/feeling. Clients may be struggling due to past trauma, addiction, compulsive/impulsive behavior, negative thoughts or self-beliefs, low confidence, low self-esteem, anxiety, fear, depression, and most other struggles in life. I know it is hard to make the decision to reach out for help that first time, but it could be such an important step for your future. If I can't help I'll work with you to find someone who can.
I am a trauma informed therapist and have post-graduate trauma training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Response Therapy (ART). I utilize these in conjunction with ACT and other modalities. I like to explore meaning, values, and the past while also helping clients to find their own strengths to help strive for change.
The primary lesson I have learned in this work is that a strong relationship with clients is mandatory and the individual is the expert in their experience. We cannot move forward without first establishing a strong rapport. My role will always be as a fellow traveler and a support person with tools to offer rather than an expert dictating the path.
