The start of any new journey can be exciting and wonderful, but it also can be difficult and anxiety-triggering. I believe a person’s counseling journey is no different. It can be frustrating navigating identity issues or crises, transitioning through phases and ages, adjusting to new normals after grief and loss, and discovering who you are in all of this to live fully and authentically. In our space you will have the freedom to explore and express who you really are and what you have gone through so far in your life. We will identify personal strengths and strategies to help you move forward in your healing and self-discovery.
I use evidence-based approaches to help you identify beliefs and assumptions you have about your life, and explore areas and issues where you feel “stuck”, or “hopeless”. I believe spirituality is a major part of who we are so I appreciate using a faith-based lens. Nonetheless, I work for you and exploring your faith does not have to be a part of your care.
Beginning this journey can be powerful and something you have wanted to do for a long time. Or, instead, you may be hesitant due to fear of the unknown or what can be unpredictable. I feel one of the hardest steps in any journey is the first step, and I would be honored to be a part of yours.
