My name is Martha Villareal and I'm a Bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) offering Telehealth throughout the state of New Mexico. I have more than 15 years of experience working with a diverse population in various roles of medical social work, non-profit organizations, and mental health therapy. There are times in our lives we go through difficult transitions/situations such as grief, relationship problems, trauma, etc. My goal is to offer a safe space where someone can express themselves freely and feel supported and heard.
I have experience in helping clients with anxiety, depression, relational problems, burnout, feeling lost, low self-esteem, and trauma. I use a combination of talk therapy and therapeutic activities in session. I utilize motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, CBT, mindfulness techniques and am trained in EMDR.
I am very much a proponent of autonomy and believe in a person-centered approach to therapy. I understand that each of us has unique strengths, difficulties, and life experiences. Each approach is a tailored treatment plan to meet people's individual needs so that they can reach their personal and relational goals.
