I provide a holistic, strengths based, and non-pathologizing approach to wellness. I am a compassionate listener and active participant in helping people realize self-compassion and acceptance so they can heal past wounds and make changes in their lives that allow them to fully realize who they are at their core. Through use of sensorimotor/somatic therapy, EMDR and IFS (you can read more about these on my website), I help people learn to listen to their bodies and their internal wisdom so they can make choices that are in line with their values and hold themselves with more confidence and ease.

This may be a time in your life when you are feeling stuck or confused with no clear path forward. Whether you are struggling with chronic worry, problems expressing anger constructively, depressed moods, unresolved loss, relationship difficulties or with self-defeating behaviors, finding a skilled and caring therapist can make all the difference. Good therapy can provide you with the time and the freedom needed to explore your concerns more deeply, with the goal of finding new and effective ways to move forward in life. Having the chance to talk about these issues can also feel tremendously unburdening and relieving.

My practice is built around providing individual therapy and EEG Neurofeedback to adults and adolescents. I believe that therapy can be tremendously beneficial in many ways, but particularly in offering an opportunity to look at life experiences and difficulties within an environment that emphasizes a strong, appropriate, and trusting relationship between client and therapist. I provide psychological assessment of difficult to treat cases for diagnostic clarification to ensure the treatment provided adequately target the issues presented.

I specialize in working with individuals - including older individuals - who are in life transitions. My niche is working with people who are - or have been - affected by addictions - their own or other people's. Questions you might be asking yourself: "Do I need to let go of the past or try to understand it better?" "Do I work on better boundaries in relationships or do I need to detach?" There are always understandable reasons for such confusion and I want to help you reach clarity and find solutions. - -Please email me with your question(s), and include your insurance company's name and scheduling needs : )

It can be extremely hard to heal from stressful events, anxiety, depression, trauma and the effects of unhealthy relationships on your own. During my own intense times I've wondered if I was spinning my wheels or indulging thoughts rather than moving through them and have needed a trusted outside source that can help me see what I might be missing. If you are going through a challenging situation, have been experiencing overwhelming emotions for a long time, or feel like you are finally ready to deal with old wounds, I would like to support you to develop greater confidence in yourself.

Hi! My name is Brenna and I’m a professional counselor associate. I received my Master of Counseling from Oregon State University in 2023, though I have worked in the mental health field in some capacity since 2004. My approach to counseling is person-centered and solution-focused. While I employ therapeutic techniques from a variety of theories – internal family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and Gestalt, mostly – my goal is to use what works best for an individual.

I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southern Oregon University in December 2020. Since then, I have worked with adult clients dealing with various types of trauma, difficult relationships, anxiety, depression, addiction, self-esteem issues and many other challenges in life. I use an eclectic approach, which includes EMDR, IFS, Gestalt, Person-Centered and Psychoanalytic modalities. In undergraduate school, I had an opportunity to work closely with a Gestalt mentor and believe that discovering and accepting all parts of ourselves can help us to feel more whole and less conflicted.

Dr. King believed that “Human salvation lies in the hands of the creatively maladjusted.” I agree. Many family, school, work, economic, and social systems are unjust, and our relationships can be troubled, including relationships with our own bodies and minds. Our “maladjustment” happens for good reasons! In my opinion, many of the bodymind differences that get diagnosed as mental illness, chronic illness, and disabilities are normal and valuable aspects of human diversity. The purpose of therapy, therefore, is not to “fix” us but to help us bring more compassion, creativity, and transformation into our lives and our world.
