We are taught to be critical—to scan our environment for flaws and errors, to assign blame, and to exercise “critical thinking.” We look at our partners and think “If you would just stop (pick your behavior), then we would be so much better together!” Will staying stuck in this mindset serve the relationship you want, or the one you have? You choose. I have a lot of life experience that tells me you can choose differently.
I’ll work with you to bring growth and change. I will teach you how to say what you need in a way that can be heard. I’ll also show you how to stiffen your spine when things are getting real—how to stay in the conflict successfully vs copping out to “just to not rock the boat.”
You will reach your goals faster in therapy than if you go it alone. And you will learn faster with an objective helper that will model & teach healthy behaviors rather than relying on friends and family for advice.
