Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a short-term, evidence-based treatment for kids ages 2.5 to 7 years old who exhibit behaviors such as anger, hyperactivity, trouble focusing, frequent tantrums, aggression, and anxiety. Caregivers learn and implement play therapy techniques that help kids regulate their emotions, increase focus, and strengthen the parent-child relationship. Caregivers learn concrete strategies to promote consistency, predictability, and motivate their child to follow directions. PCIT with Toddlers is an adaptation of PCIT for kids ages 12-24 months with similar behavior concerns.
I am a Certified PCIT Therapist and Within Agency Trainer and Rostered PCIT with Toddlers (PCIT-T) Clinician. I have provided PCIT since 2010. Therapy is conducted using a HIPAA compliant TeleHealth platform, making therapy convenient and accessible across South Carolina. Support is provided in the child's home where behavior issues typically occur.
Kids don't come with instruction manuals. Parenting a child with behavior issues can be a stressful and isolating experience.
