As a therapist, I am warm, encouraging, supportive, and nonjudgmental, while using a sense of humor with a down to earth approach to counseling. I currently practice as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and am actively working toward being a Licensed Professional Counselor.
I have seven years of individual and group counseling experience, working in various treatment settings such as inpatient mental health/substance abuse, residential, and outpatient. I use a variety of techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, and Motivational Interviewing. A holistic, person centered approach is what guides me.
I have had life experience working through mental health issues both personally and with those close to me, therefore I believe I can bring a higher level of understanding to our therapeutic relationship.
