Helping empower people to live joyful, abundant peace-filled lives, while enjoying the gift of life given me by God forms the purpose and drives the mission of my ministry as a therapist. The purpose of Heart and Hand Center is to alleviate suffering that comes to people of all ages as a result of trauma, grief, loss, injury, accidents, divorce, family dysfunction, war, poverty, addictions, death, and disease. We use a healing approach combining compassion and care with expressive arts therapy, equine assisted psychotherapy, and spirituality to address root causes of emotional, behavioral, and psychological problems.
Emotional and psychological problems are primarily Right Brain functional disorders. The Right Brain is our creative and emotional center. Because verbal skills are primarily Left Brain functions, the most effective way to treat emotionally based problems is with Art, Expressive, and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.
Most emotional, behavioral and psychological problems originate in unresolved trauma. Art Therapy is the most effective means of healing anxiety, depression, fears, insecurity, and flashbacks plaguing those who have experienced trauma and abuse. Interaction with horses increases joy, peace, and a sense of well-being while reducing anxiety and depression.
