Counseling is such a bold and brave step in the process of healing. I believe that healthy development and growth are not reached by the elimination of pain and challenges, but rather in developing healthy methods of understanding, coping with, and responding to pain. This can be a challenging, but a beautiful process, and I am honored to walk with my clients through it. Most of my training is in working with women and I enjoy working alongside them as they navigate working through trauma, work/life balance, anxiety, boundary issues, guilt/shame, identity issues, life transitions, self-esteem, depression, and/or loss.
My blended approach draws primarily from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I am also trained in Brainspotting, a brain-based therapy approach that focuses on where the brain stores trauma and involves both brain and body in a dual process of healing.
I believe something very powerful happens when a person gives themselves the space to slow down, connect, and be vulnerable. This can result in living more authentically and fully - whether life is smooth or you're surrounded by pain and suffering. I am also happy to counsel from a Christian perspective but welcome clients from all belief backgrounds.
