Alhambra Valley Retreat (AVR) is a 24 hour residential treatment program for adult males suffering from alcohol and/or substance abuse. The program is licensed and certified by the State of California, Department of Health Care Services, and in 2021 received a three year accreditation by The Commission on Accredited Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). AVR is credentialed by Kaiser Permanente as a provider of services to over two million insured clients throughout Northern California. The program accepts all Kaiser clients in this region. AVR also accepts cash pay. The program is designed to treat 6 clients at a time, which allows for individualized treatment plans and personal attention to our resident's needs.The treatment program includes individual, group and family therapy with licensed therapists, addiction educational sessions, and recovery and treatment planning designed to help each client transition back to their community after successful treatment stay.
Alhambra Valley Retreat specializes with individualized treatment 30-60-90-120 day treatment. AVR is a dual diagnosis program utilizing evidence based practices including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Addiction Education, Relapse Prevention, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Stress Resiliency. We provide individual, group and family therapy, yoga, guided meditation, experiential therapies (Eco-therapy, Gardening, Art, Acupuncture) Clients have weekly therapy sessions provided by licensed therapists. Nutritional Consulting and 12-step recovery model support augment traditional substance abuse recovery curriculum. Alhambra Valley Retreat features a holistic, wellness component that focuses on the mind, body and spirit. Clients are surrounded with dedicated and supportive counselors, utilizing evidence based therapeutic practices in a setting conducive to successful outcomes. Family therapy and education take place every Sunday. Families will get the opportunity to learn about addiction and recovery, in addiction to having family therapy by a licensed therapists.
Men are able to focus on their sobriety in a safe and confidential way. AVR features an executive chef who prepares nutrient rich foods, specifically designed for recovery. Additionally, we have a swimming pool, hot tub, individual gardening plots, pool table, equipped gym, and other recovery focused amenities. Every Saturday our clients have an opportunity to go out in the community and experience sober fun. Additionally, clients will be taken to support meetings in the community in order to immerse themselves in the recovery community. Alhambra Valley Retreat has a robust Alumni Group in which clients who successfully compete the program will be given the opportunity to join. Alumni events take place quarterly with the current clients being able to interact with alumni from the program in order to help foster a recovery community.
