A client with challenges around how to keep and maintain certain relationships. A client who is stuck in self-imposed roles and responsibilities that benefit others at the expense of the client's own wellbeing. This client struggles with self-reflection because every time they engage in this process, it forces them to have to confront and work through past unresolved issues which may date as far back as childhood. Remember revisiting memories of he past can bring so much discomfort and pain. Hence it is easier for people to establish other patterns that make them forget about the past.
Explore client's early childhood patterns such as attachment styles and family context. Assist the client to have a healthier relationship with the self and others by establishing boundaries. Work through the fear and anxiety of not having the right tools to manage their emotions. Work through triggers of loss, abandonment, injustice, trauma etc.
