Grave Warden Duelist: Boss Fight Strategy

The Grave Warden Duelist swings about two large hammers on chains in a room with lots of pillars on either side. Use these to your advantage: the boss will aggro you through them and waste attacks on you that'll never connect. Next up, we recommend using Ashes like Lone Wolf Ashes. While they don't deal much damage, they distract the boss and free up lots of opportunities for you to attack. This will make the fight much, much easier.

Roughly three-quarters of the way through, the boss will begin flashing red after charging up. It's now even more aggressive and will deal more damage. Hopefully, your Ashes are still standing at this point, so it won't matter too much. However, this second phase didn't even trigger for us sometimes. It all depends on if the boss has a chance to. If you connect enough hits, it's actually possible to stagger the boss completely. This will cause it to temporarily crouch down, leaving it even more open to damage.

Besides that, you should be using the usual approach. Its normal attack pattern consists of four of five swings, which you likely won't have enough stamina to brute force by blocking. Therefore, get out of the way as much as you can with dodges. In combination with the Lone Wolf Ashes, you'll quickly overwhelm Grave Warden Duelist and finish the fight.
