Emmy Award-winning animation director Chuck Sheetz made his first foray into animation in 1980, with his self-scribed cartoon short, "Wild Times in the Wildwood." A graduate of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, Sheetz made his way up the ranks, going from animation timer to assistant director on America's longest running sitcom, "The Simpsons." However, he made his directing debut on a different Fox cartoon, the pop culture satire "The Critic," which was created by "Simpsons" writers Al Jean and Mike Reiss. He'd go on to balance primetime animated series, like Matt Groening's "The Simpsons" and Mike Judge's Texas-set "King of the Hill," with daytime kids' fare like the grade school-centered adventure "Recess" and the 2002 Scooby Doo re-launch, "What's New Scooby-Doo?" In 2008, Sheetz won an Emmy for directing a "Simpsons" episode titled "Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind," an outlandish parody of the Oscar-winning Michel Gondry amnesia drama, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."
