Aside from some of the churlish material, this has to be one of Sandler’s best from his original run. He’s actually committed to a vision here, and the story actually tries to find the poignancy in its premise rather than just the humor.

The critics hate it so you know its actually good. Sandler and Barrymore made me laugh all through this movie while giving the audience lovable scenes and heart-warming feelings. I'm not a huge romcom guy but I loved this movie!

It is quite a generic rom-com. However the romance between Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler are undeniably pure and realistic, creating a convincing story that makes for a fun time. The script, although quite basic and at parts is underdeveloped, does manage to make a touching end to the movie which is rather meaningful. Although there was room for improvements in the screenwriting and the delivery was a bit average, the acting between the two leads and the comedic inputs are what make this movie worth the while.
