When a retired opera singer leaves her inheritance to her cat, Duchess (Eva Gabor), and three kittens, the woman's butler drugs the cats and abandons them in the countryside in order to inherit the fortune himself. Lost in unfamiliar territory, Duchess and the kittens meet Thomas O'Malley (Phil Harris), an alley cat willing to help them return to their home in Paris. Similar love story to Lady and the Tramp, as in two lovers from opposite sides of the economic spectrum, but with cats. This time they have to get home while dealing with an evil butler. Like The Jungle Book, what stands out here is a few of the songs. “Thomas O’Malley Cat” and “Ev’rybody Wants to Be a Cat” are my highlights. Edgar, the villain, is forgettable, one of my least favorites in Disney animated canon. I very much dislike the kittens. I feel that their only purpose is to be cute and feel sorry for them. This seems to start a trend for child characters in Disney movies. This movie also seems to be targeted to a younger demographic then most of the previous Disney animated movies. Check it out if you’re interested.

May seem cute on paper, but man this movie just ain’t for me. It kinda boring. Nothing really caught my interest and there just so many annoying side characters and scenes that just added nothing. The cats are kinda boring and the song “every body wants to be a cat” is just so annoying.

From the old Disney classics this was one of the less movies. The characters are not really special and so is the story. But for kids it's a very fun film with great comedy and good animation.
