I saw this when it first came out and recently revisited it. It's still a great movie, though it's not going to be for everyone. It's not overly complex or deep but there's a certain charm to it that I like. William Dafoe is hilarious and bizarre. Critics bash it for being overly bloody and violent. I suppose for the time it may have been but these days it seems rather tame.

An enjoyable film that has intriguing characters and a unfavourable view of the (in this case) USA justice system, esp in its closing moments. Dafoe is both entertaining, and makes an apt social reflection statement.
