Brian Lloyd entertainment.ie It's always gratifying to find a horror movie that has the best of influences, and even more gratifying that it's an Irish crew of filmmakers that are making it all. Rated: 6/10 Feb 16, 2024 Full Review Chris Wasser Sunday Independent (Ireland) This moody, claustrophobic chiller stretches its one good idea beyond breaking point -- but there is enough here to unnerve and, indeed, frighten even the most cynical participant. Audience Member OK for low budget horror. Must have only cost like $100K for the this entire movie. Had some cool hallucinations and dreamy scenes but slow burn overall. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/18/24 Full Review Audience Member Ooh that was good. There's nothing scarier than some good old fashioned medical malpractice. Also watched this while incredibly tired myself, which added to the atmosphere. I think what really adds to the horror is the fact that it is a believable case of current society taken to its extremes. The premise is simple: pharmaceutical company takes advantage of desperate people for their own gain with little regard for the consequences. I really enjoyed the tension and distrust between the characters, which they managed to fit into 90 minutes. I'm generally not a fan of scary movies because I startle easily, but this struck a nice balance because the killer wasn't a person but instead sleep, so it's the character's own responsibility if they die (to an extent) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/22/24 Full Review Hugo S A group of youngsters volunteer for a drug trial managed by a sinister pharmaceutical corporation. The experimentation goes horribly wrong when participants start dying once they fall asleep. This terrifying side effect results in a fight for survival as the group struggles to stay awake until they find a way out of the laboratory. "Double Blind" offers an interesting premise and it sustains a high dosage of claustrophobia and tension. A fast paced horror movie with all characters in constant survival mode. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/18/24 Full Review Audience Member Acting was fine and the initial deaths were believable, after that it all gets a bit silly. At least I learnt about human medical trails and what double blind meant. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/29/24 Full Review Audience Member I would give this a C+/B- it was a really good attempt at a decent premise with actual scary bits sprinkled throughout. Decent development and great acting and filming. The story was just a little lackluster. Trapped in a place, don't go to sleep. Not much else going on story wise but the visuals were cool and the score really added to the depth and ambiance of the feeling. Overall worth a watch, but wouldn't think to watch it again. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/19/24 Full Review Stephen G There is absolutely no there there. The critics must have been on mushrooms or have taken the drug so stupidly dramatized in this nothing movie. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Read all reviews
