When an experimental drug trial goes horribly wrong, seven young test subjects, after being kept awake for days, must face the terrifying side effect of the drug: if you fall asleep you die. Trapped in an isolated medical facility, they desperately try to find a way to reverse the side effects of the trial, as one by one they succumb to sleep and death. Panic quickly takes hold and they to turn on each other. It's left up to Claire, the group's unlikely leader, to keep them together, find a way to escape, and somehow manage to stay awake.

Ooh that was good. There's nothing scarier than some good old fashioned medical malpractice. Also watched this while incredibly tired myself, which added to the atmosphere. I think what really adds to the horror is the fact that it is a believable case of current society taken to its extremes. The premise is simple: pharmaceutical company takes advantage of desperate people for their own gain with little regard for the consequences. I really enjoyed the tension and distrust between the characters, which they managed to fit into 90 minutes. I'm generally not a fan of scary movies because I startle easily, but this struck a nice balance because the killer wasn't a person but instead sleep, so it's the character's own responsibility if they die (to an extent)

A group of youngsters volunteer for a drug trial managed by a sinister pharmaceutical corporation. The experimentation goes horribly wrong when participants start dying once they fall asleep. This terrifying side effect results in a fight for survival as the group struggles to stay awake until they find a way out of the laboratory. "Double Blind" offers an interesting premise and it sustains a high dosage of claustrophobia and tension. A fast paced horror movie with all characters in constant survival mode.

Acting was fine and the initial deaths were believable, after that it all gets a bit silly. At least I learnt about human medical trails and what double blind meant.

I would give this a C+/B- it was a really good attempt at a decent premise with actual scary bits sprinkled throughout. Decent development and great acting and filming. The story was just a little lackluster. Trapped in a place, don't go to sleep. Not much else going on story wise but the visuals were cool and the score really added to the depth and ambiance of the feeling. Overall worth a watch, but wouldn't think to watch it again.
