In the second live-action Muppets film, intrepid journalists Kermit, Fozzie and Gonzo snag an assignment reporting on a British jewel heist. Arriving in England, the trio settles in at the raucous Happiness Hotel and seeks out socialite Lady Holiday, the victim of the theft. Guess I'm pissing off all you Muppet fans for the unspeakable crime of...preferring this film over The Muppet Movie which I thought was fine but a teeny bit overrated. What can I say? I did really like The Great Muppet Caper with its fun songs, really good visual effects that help sell the illusion that these sentient puppets are individuals in their own right, amusing plot and finally, being really funny. The fact that Jim Henson directed this time around might have had something to do with it. Shame that this would end up being his only Muppet movie before he passed away a decade later. I still think the 2011 film is the best Muppet film but, presumably because it wasn't hyped up as a work of art by the fans, I found myself enjoying their second big-screen adventure much more than their original story from 1979.

This movie is about the famous puppet twins Fozzie and Kermit doing a funny adventure. It is when the Muppets went into more funny things instead of heartfelt. I also think the only heartfelt movies are The Original Muppet Movie and The Muppets

This is my favorite Muppet Movie. The story, the music, the cameos and human characters are all great. Charles Grodin makes a great villain. No spoilers, it's not a mystery as they show his face during the opening song right before he robs his sister.

Easily my favorite Muppet movie. I grew up watching this one the most. For me there is nothing quite as entertaining as Gonzo throwing himself onto oncoming traffic to hail a cab. I also love how much of a love letter it is to Hollywood.
